Profile

 

Dr. Hwang Siew Wai is the Clinic Director at SingHealth Polyclinics – Bukit Merah. Besides leading the polyclinic team, he treats patients that present to the general clinic and manages complex chronic medical cases such as diabetes and hypertension at the Family Physician Clinic. He has been recognised for the excellent care of his patients with the SingHealth Outstanding Clinician Award as well as the Singapore Health Quality and Service Award (Gold).

 

In addition he has been appointed to various committees such as the Ministry of Health's Drug Advisory Committee and Ministry of Health's Haze Committee. At the polyclinic level, he sits in the Clinical Governance Steering Committee, JCI Steering Committee and Quality Improvement Committee.


Dr. Hwang has a deep passion for teaching and is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. For his dedication, he was conferred the Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence in 2014. He is appointed Adjunct Assistant Professor for NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Adjunct Assistant Professor for Duke-NUS Medical School and Physician Faculty Member for the SingHealth Family Medicine Residency Program. He also serves as a member of the Family Medicine Residency Advisory Committee which oversees the training program for the specialty of Family Medicine in Singapore.
